Година на построяване
1928
Кратка информация
For the first time in Varna, buildings for sea baths were built in 1915. Two wooden buildings were built on wooden piles for men's and women's sea baths, at a distance from each other. These buildings were difficult and expensive to maintain and by 1920, they no longer existed. In 1921, the city of Varna was declared a resort city by government decree. At that time, the mayor of the municipality of Varna was Petar Stoyanov (1923-1954). At his insistence, a decision was made to build the Central Sea Baths in their current form. The order was awarded to the Czech company "Pitel Brauseveter", which assigned the project to the prominent Varna architect M. Yordanov (arch. Manol Yordanov Statelov, 1877-1954). The building was built in 1928, with a built-up area of nearly 2000 sq.m. In the central wing there was a small pool and 66 hydrotherapy baths with warm mineral water. Originally, the central body was one-story. On its roof - the so-called central terrace, a policeman was on duty, watching the men on the north side, not to stop and look at the women on the south side. In 1930, women were allowed to visit the northern part, and from 1932 the two beaches became mixed. At that time, the central terrace was covered with a metal structure on which awnings were stretched. The terrace is used for serving snacks and drinks.
After 1954, the building in question was handed over to the general company "Targovia" - Varna. In 1972, at the request of the joint-stock company "Targovia" - Varna, a second floor was built on the central terrace, which houses the "Sea Terrace" restaurant, completely renovated in 2015. In terms of style, the building was built in the characteristic arch . Yordanov Secession, influenced by the emerging European Modern trend. Given the primacy of function and the city's post-war financial situation, the building is rather sparingly decorated. In 2015, the Central Sea Baths (arch. Vladimir Rachev) and the Northern Sea Baths (arch. Geogri Bachev) were remodeled and restored.
